Jeffery Tompkins is an award-winning urban planner, illustrator, designer, and entrepreneur with a passion for helping build more joyous cities. He is the principal of PRT Planning + Design, an Indianapolis-based urbanism consultancy offering ideas on emergent urbanism and place-empowerment for the 21st century city. With his professional work, he aims to help co-create memorable, equitable, and accessible joy in the built environment — much of Jeffery’s recent work has revolved on anchor institution strategies, district planning, and community-driven neighborhood activation. A native of the Rust Belt, Jeffery confronts hegemonic urbanism with emergent, place-based solutions that prioritize wealth-building and co-creation.
